„Freiheit - Ohne Angst verschieden sein: Was bedeutet das für Dich?“

Bereits zum zweiten Mal startet am 6. März 2025 ein Schulwettbewerb, den der Förderkreis #Wir_erinnern_Wir_gestalten des Zentrums für verfolgte Künste und die Stadt Solingen gemeinsam ausloben. Als Vorsitzende des Förderkreises wird Sylvia Löhrmann das gesamte Verfahren leiten. Oberbürgermeister Tim Kurzbach übernimmt die Schirmherrschaft.
Thema und Zielgruppe
Das diesjährige Wettbewerbsthema lautet „Freiheit - Ohne Angst verschieden sein: Was bedeutet das für dich?“. Der Wettbewerb richtet sich an Schüler:innen aller Solinger Schulen der Sekundarstufen I und II und lädt diese herzlich dazu ein, sich mit der Thematik zu befassen und daraus resultierend Beiträge zu entwickeln.
Kinder und Jugendliche wachsen in vielfältigen Lebenslagen auf, besitzen vielschichtige Identitäten und sind geprägt von unterschiedlichen Zugehörigkeiten. Im Fokus des Wettbewerbs steht somit die Frage, wie junge Menschen ihre Heterogenität im Alltag erleben.
Wie geht es jüdischen oder muslimischen Kindern und Jugendlichen? Welche Erfahrungen machen junge BIPoC? Wie fühlen sich queere junge Menschen? Sind Jugendliche, die der Mehrheitsgesellschaft angehören, im Vorteil?
Wie der Wettbewerbstitel zeigt, spielt der Aspekt der Freiheit dabei eine zentrale Rolle: Inwiefern trauen sich Kinder und Jugendliche heute noch, sich frei zu entfalten, frei von der Sorge vor Benachteiligung, Ausgrenzung oder gar Diskriminierung? Schließlich spiegeln die Möglichkeiten der freien Entfaltung aller innerhalb der Gesellschaft den Zustand unserer Demokratie wider.
Schüler:innen sollen hierbei auch über ihre eigene Rolle reflektieren. So soll das Bewusstsein dafür gestärkt werden, dass in einer Demokratie jede:r Verantwortung trägt.
Das Verständnis von Vielfalt als Bereicherung kann dadurch gefestigt werden, und so wird der unschätzbare Wert sichtbar, den es bedeutet, ohne Angst verschieden sein zu können - innerhalb und außerhalb der Schule.
Beiträge
Beiträge jeglicher Art, wie Texte, Podcasts, Interviews, Filme, Zeichnungen, Collagen und Fotografien sind willkommen. Diese können als Gruppen- oder Einzelarbeiten eingereicht werden.
Die Beiträge können in einzelnen Unterrichtsfächern erarbeitet werden, wie bspw. Gesellschaftslehre, Sozialwissenschaften, Politik, Pädagogik, Deutsch, Kunst, Religionslehre, praktische Philosophie und Geschichte. Selbstverständlich können Beiträge auch im Rahmen von Projekttagen, Ganztagsangeboten oder AGs gestaltet werden.

Angebot: Kurzworkshops
In diesem Jahr wird es zusätzlich ein auf den Wettbewerb abgestimmtes Angebot von fYOUture, der Fachstelle für gesamtstädtische Jugendbeteiligung in Solingen, für Schulklassen geben. Im Rahmen verschiedener Kurzworkshops, die von der Referentin für Demokratieförderung Julia Kaina angeleitet werden, haben Schüler:innen die Möglichkeit, sich mit dem Wettbewerbsthema zu befassen. Infolge dieser Auseinandersetzung können gemeinsam Ideen für einen Beitrag und dessen Umsetzung entwickelt werden.

Jury & Preisverleihung
Nach dem Eingang der Beiträge wird eine Jury diese sichten und bewerten. Die Jury besteht aus Fachleuten und Persönlichkeiten der Solinger Öffentlichkeit (u.a. Bildungs- und Jugendbereich, Medien, Stadt Solingen, Förderkreis des Zentrums für verfolgte Künste).
Im Rahmen einer Preisverleihung werden mindestens drei Beiträge prämiert. Das Gesamtpreisgeld, in Höhe von 1.000 Euro, wird von der Stadtsparkasse Solingen gespendet.
